Founded by Bea Ammidown, the nonprofit YogAbility Institute was developed to provide yoga therapeutics adapted for all levels and situations with a focus on those with special needs or disabilities.
Bea developed YogAbility as a result of four years work healing herself from a devastating auto accident. She produced the DVD Yoga for Special Needs, which introduces her series of 60 minute yoga sessions with patient-tested exercises for cerebral palsy; heart disease and stroke recovery; hip and knee replacement; and macular degeneration. YogAbility videos can be viewed on the website.
The YogAbility Scholarship Fund provides alternative healing classes to individuals who otherwise might not be able to afford yoga. You can make a tax-deductible donation to provide scholarships as well as to support research, education, advocacy and rehabilitation, at YogAbility.org.
